Innovation contributes significantly to solving the social and environmental problems that face our societies today. Research on technological and organizational innovation for positive social impact is an interdisciplinary effort that draws on psychology, sociology, organizational studies, information systems, and computer sciences. Such research requires not only broad collaboration across universities, but also collaboration between academia and industry. The Institute of Responsible Innovation (IRI-HSG), is dedicated to providing a cross-disciplinary platform for conducting top-level research and teaching activities on crucial topics including sustainable entrepreneurship, social innovation, entrepreneurship and innovation in extreme environments, and human flourishing.
