Collaborative Innovation

With an increasing demand for knowledge creation and innovation, collaboration as an organizing principle is gaining importance. This research program draws on both organizational and psychological theories to explore this question in new venture teams, industry-academia collaboration, and open-source collaboration online. Our empirical works focus on the mechanisms that complement or replace the three major functions of formal authority in collaborations, including the provision of motivation, provision of information, and resolution of conflict.
